Two Minute Situation
This is a situation that should be practiced at least two days a week. Possibly a third day during a walk-through versus air. I want to discuss four points about the two minute situation. Number one, your team must execute. Execution is extremely important. Every player must know their assignment and their alignment before the ball is snapped in the two minute situation. Once they understand their alignment and assignment, then they must execute their job on that play. Whether it’s a block, a pattern, a fake or a throw, everyone must execute at the highest level. You can only execute at the highest standard if you have practiced this situation multiple times during the week. You should have a core group of plays that will carry over from week to week and a few plays that you will add from week to week versus different opponents. Execution is key to success.
