Creating And Using Packaged Calls Within The Quick Passing Game
Ho To Package Different Sides Of A Route To Do Different Jobs Within A Single Play Call
One of the most recent additions to our offense that has really helped and improved our good play to bad play ratio is the use of “packaged calls.” By packaging, two or more plays together with the quarterback choosing from them at the line of scrimmage or packaging different sides of a route to do different jobs within a single play call, we take much of the guest work out of our own playcalling, and eliminate some of the surprise element that the defense can wheeled by building answers for a number of different defenses into our package. For the quick passing game, we have a number of reasons for wanting to package a call. We are accounting for specific factors in our quick passing packaged calls.
